how can there not be love for google? i'm such a geek, linking google yet again after yesterday's entry. to further that geek thing, i thank slashdot for posting this gem. i completely agree with the "geeks" in the article. computer stuff is really not all that difficult to get these days. the argument that users need to be equipped with a talent for understanding computers in order to use them is only applicable a decade ago. today, practically every software is spelled out in detailed, non-computer-geek language so that the average user can understand. even hardware comes color-coded ferchrissakes (and wtf is up with that? geez, if the plug don't fit, THEN TRY ANOTHER OUTLET DUMBASS). come to think of it, it wasn't that hard to get this computer stuff even a decade ago. anything i know now is not from taking a billion cs classes. it's not like i turned on a computer and instantly knew what to do. i spent time with the machine and fiddled around with programs. and read books. and tried stuff out on my own. that's it. anything else i didn't know i asked around and used common sense n logic. it is so not rocket science. blaming computer crashes on email viruses (mydoom anyone?) is even more retarded. you don't talk to people you don't know, why the hell would you open attachments from someone you don't know? especially since it's an oft-repeated "law" in our spam-riddled world not to open strange email or attachments. that has nothing to do with computer know-how, it's called using your god-given common sense. arguments used by mydoom recepients who say that they opened email because it was addressed from their own friends is not excusable either btw. if you know who your friends are, then would it be believable that all of a sudden they sent you email that said "hi" or "hey" in the title with no body text whatever? or body text that contained techno-babble? common sense ya idiots, common sense! just delete the damn thing and if it was so important, they'd pick up a phone and call. i refuse to believe that god deprived 80% of the internet public of common sense. people just refuse to even try and think anymore. wussies. expecting the world to look out for your interests and hand you shit on a silver platter instead of actively protecting your own is fucking wussy.
wow, one anger just leads to another....i sure do hate people sometimes.
rant over, sort of. back to pennsylvanian farms now, boo!
